Job summary

Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, MO, is seeking a Mental Health Technician for the Inpatient Behavioral Health unit. The role is full-time, days, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, 36 hours per week, on site.

You will work with licensed nursing staff to provide patient care and help create a therapeutic space for patients to thrive. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma and BCLS within 120 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• BCLS certification must be obtained within 120 days of hire and kept current.
• Clearance through the Family Care Registry is required.
• Orientation/training as directed, including UAP content if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Help patients with daily activities under the supervision of the nursing team.
• Maintain a supportive, safe, and positive environment for patients.
• Perform clerical tasks and assist in clinical settings as needed.
• Use compassion to help patients feel at ease and supported.
