Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is hiring a Mental Health Technician to support a specialized patient population. Under RN supervision, you will provide direct and indirect care, promote safety, and help with daily tasks across inpatient units, crisis, and ER as needed.

You will participate in interdisciplinary care planning, ensure patient satisfaction, and support safety initiatives while assisting with routine nursing tasks, data collection, and documentation to maintain high-quality care

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of CNA/CMA/PCT program or equivalent medical training.
• Eligible to participate in the HMH PCT Apprenticeship Program.
• Pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in health-related fields is a plus.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to patient care needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care based on age-appropriate criteria and safety.
• Communicate with patients, families, and health care team about status and care.
• Assist with admission, assessment, procedures, and documentation.
• Support interdisciplinary plan of care from admission to discharge.
• Adhere to unit PI activities and safety checks.
