Job summary

VA White River Junction Healthcare System in Vermont is seeking a full-time Inpatient Mental Health Registered Nurse to provide competent, evidence-based care for patients with mental health conditions; deliver medications and treatments; coordinate care with an interdisciplinary team; and lead patient education and safety planning.

The nurse will facilitate shift reports, warm hand-offs, and group sessions; practice therapeutic communication and de‑escalation; align with ANA standards and VA

Qualifications

• English language proficiency required for direct patient care.
• RN license required or eligible for licensure in the U.S.
• Nursing degree (ADN/BSN) required or eligible for bridge program.
• Compliance with VA nursing standards and licensure requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based mental health nursing care.
• Administer medications and treatments per policy.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team.
• Lead patient education and safety planning.
