Job summary

Allina Health in New Ulm, MN is seeking a mental health coordinator to support patients and coordinate care within the Inpatient Psych Services department. The role focuses on patient needs and a smooth healthcare experience, contributing to outstanding care quality.

The position is 0.7 FTE with 8-hour day/evening/night shifts, and every other weekend rotation. Pay ranges from $19.61 to $26.70 per hour with union considerations and shift differentials possible.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description.
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• 2 to 5 years in mental health/substance abuse patient care recommended

Responsibilities

• Initial and ongoing data collection and observation documentation.
• Responds and documents changes in patient's health status and communicates changes to the RN.
• Reports observations of patient's potential for violence towards self or others.
• Alert nurse to extra pyramidal side effect.
• Demonstrates use of correct Code Green techniques to provide safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
• Monitors vital signs and reports observations.
• Assists with activities of daily living.
• Assists with admissions and discharges.
