Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma is required.
• 0 to 3 years of related experience.
• Credentialed HIM/Coding credentials by AHIMA or AAPC after June 2015.

Responsibilities

• Code inpatient records using ICD-9 and/or ICD-10 codes.
• Ensure accurate MS-DRG/APR-DRG for reimbursement.
• Code within 4 days of discharge per AHIMA guidelines.
• Query physicians to clarify diagnoses when needed.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and adhere to organizational policies.
