Job summary

Medasource is hiring experienced Inpatient Medical Coders for a fully remote 6-month contract in a high-acuity environment. The role supports diverse specialties, including cardiology, neurology, surgery, transplants, and NICU cases, with emphasis on accurate inpatient coding and regulatory compliance.

Qualified candidates have at least three years of inpatient coding experience, CCS preferred (RHIT/RHIA considered), and proficiency with Epic EHR and the 3M encoder.

Qualifications

• CCS certification preferred; RHIT or RHIA credentials considered.
• Minimum of three years of inpatient coding experience.
• Strong multi-specialty inpatient coding background.
• Experience in academic medical centers or trauma facilities preferred.

Summary

Medasource is partnering with a leading regional health system to hire experienced Inpatient Medical Coders for a fully remote contract opportunity. This role supports a high-acuity, multi-specialty environment and is ideal for coders with strong experience handling complex inpatient cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate inpatient coding across a wide range of specialties, including: Cardiology, Neurology, Surgical cases, Transplants, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Additional complex inpatient cases
• Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and industry standards
• Maintain timely and accurate coding in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Consistently meet established productivity and quality expectations

Qualifications

• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification preferred; RHIT or RHIA credentials will also be considered
• Minimum of three years of inpatient coding experience
• Strong multi-specialty inpatient coding background
• Experience working within an academic medical center or trauma facility preferred
• Proficiency with Epic EHR
• Experience using the 3M encoder
