Job summary

Amergis is seeking an Inpatient Medical Coder to assign ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS codes and to abstract pertinent information from patient records, ensuring accurate coding for hospital services. This contract–full time role emphasizes compliance and precision in a healthcare facility setting.

Candidate should have 2+ years of coding experience and hold one of the required certifications (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-H).

Qualifications

• Must hold at least one of the listed coding certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years relevant coding experience.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS codes as appropriate.
• Abstract pertinent information from patient records.

Job description

The Inpatient Medical Coder is responsible for assigning ICD-10 and/or CPT/HCPCS codes as appropriate and abstracts pertinent information from patient records.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must hold at least one of the following certifications: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-H (COC) for a minimum of 2 years and have a minimum of 2 years relevant coding experience

• Must be at least 18 years of age
