Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking experienced Inpatient Medical Coders to review inpatient records and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines, CMS regulations, and payer requirements.

We welcome candidates with experience in facility inpatient coding or inpatient ProFee coding; 2+ years of inpatient coding and AHIMA or AAPC certification are preferred. Remote options may be considered based on qualifications.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of inpatient coding experience.
• Current AHIMA or AAPC certification.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS.
• Experience with hospital EMR and encoder systems.
• Attention to detail and coding accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient documentation for coding accuracy and completeness.

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Inpatient Medical Coders. This role is responsible for reviewing inpatient medical records and assigning accurate diagnosis and procedure codes while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines, regulatory requirements, and organizational quality standards.

We welcome candidates with experience in either facility inpatient coding or inpatient professional fee (ProFee) coding.

Candidates do not need experience in every specialty listed. Experience in either facility or professional inpatient coding is encouraged.

Minimum Qualifications

• 2+ years of recent inpatient coding experience.
• Current AHIMA or AAPC certification (CCS preferred; CPC, RHIT, RHIA, or CCS-P also considered based on experience).
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS coding.
• Experience with hospital EMR and encoder systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and coding accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous remote coding experience.
• Experience with Epic, Cerner, Meditech, or other hospital EMRs.
• Hospital or large health system experience.
• Knowledge of DRG reimbursement methodologies and CMS guidelines.
