Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License.
• 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient’s condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and document care in the patient’s medical record.
• Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests and educating patients, families, and caregivers about the condition and treatment plan.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring understanding.
