Qualifications

• Current RN license in Virginia
• Registered Nurse Diploma to practice in Virginia
• BLS/CPR certification within 30 days of start date

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery
• Provide patient/family education about the procedure and peri-operative process
• Prepare patients including intravenous therapy and preoperative medications
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols
• Respond to patient emergencies and deliver high-quality care
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team in the operating room
• Apply nursing process and clinical judgment to patient care
• Monitor patient condition and document changes throughout shift
• Educate patients and families about treatment and follow-up
