Job summary

Chippenham Hospital is seeking an RN CDU for the night shift to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. You will collaborate with medical providers for pre- and post-operative nursing care and advocate for patients to ensure an exceptional experience.

Key duties include assessing patients on admission and during each shift, performing ordered procedures, documenting care promptly, administering medications, and maintaining current knowledge of cardiac and surgical care

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• Current RN license in Virginia or a Multistate Compact license.
• 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care hospital preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift.
• Perform procedures as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document administration of care in the patient record promptly and thoroughly.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor responses.
• Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used for cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The RN CDU coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
• Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License.
• 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification.
