Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires Master’s Degree (MSW) from an accredited School of Social Work.
• Must sit for the Massachusetts Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Certification exam within the first 90 days from date of hire.
• Must obtain Massachusetts LCSW Certification within 6 months of hire.
• 1–2 years of Social Work knowledge/experience; pre-MS W experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Completes biopsychosocial assessments and trauma assessments.
• Provides trauma-informed, strengths-based, crisis interventions.
• Develops rapport and maintains therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Uses motivational interviewing and reflective listening to support patients and families.
• Screens for social determinants of health and identity of protective needs.
• Reports suspected abuse/neglect and ensures compliance with legal mandates.
• Provides referrals, counseling, case management and advocacy.
• Documents each patient encounter in the EMR.
• Participates in hospital committees and ensures quality of care.
