Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA is seeking an LPN Inpatient for the 24-bed telemetry PCU. The unit supports Hospitalist Medicine with renal and other medical diagnoses, and may cover GI and Pulmonary needs.

The LPN works under an RN or physician, collecting data and contributing to the patient care plan. Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program and Virginia licensure are required; de-escalation training within four months is expected.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.
• Licensed to practice practical nursing in the state of Virginia.
• De-escalation training must be completed within four months of hire and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Assist with nursing care under the direction of a registered nurse or physician.
• Collect data, plan, implement and evaluate patient care with the RN.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient status.
• Communicate with team members, ancillary departments and physicians.
• Contribute to care planning and patient education.
