Brown University Health is seeking an experienced Social Worker LSW for inpatient units at Newport Hospital, RI. The role involves evaluating psychosocial needs, coordinating with medical staff, and supporting patients and families toward optimal functioning within the hospital setting.

The position requires an MSW, RI licensure (LICSW eligible), and 6–12 months of clinical experience in health/mental health care.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited program.
• Current license from RI, Board of Social Work Licensure; LICSW eligibility required.
• 6 months to 1 year clinical experience in health/mental health settings.
• Analytical and therapy skills to evaluate and treat patients and families.

Responsabilités

• Complete bio-psychosocial evaluations to remove barriers to treatment and discharge.
• Develop and initiate treatment plans with appropriate interventions.
• Document social work activity in patient medical records.
• Provide education to patients and families to understand and follow recommendations.
• Participate in conferences and care rounds to coordinate care.
