Job summary

A health care provider is seeking a Lactation Consultant to serve in the Women & Family Education department. This part-time role involves facilitating breastfeeding education and support, assisting with common breastfeeding challenges, and collaborating with hospital staff. Candidates must be graduates of accredited nursing programs with a current RN license. Experience in maternal/infant health and competencies in breastfeeding management are essential. This position offers the opportunity to positively impact patient care while working primarily two days a week plus weekends.

Qualifications

• Must have one year of experience in maternal/infant health.
• Current RN license from Texas Board of Nursing required.
• Certification as an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant within 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates breastfeeding initiation and provides education.
• Assists with breastfeeding problems and provides intervention.
• Teaches classes on breastfeeding and related topics.
