Job summary

Parkland Health is seeking a Lactation Consultant to join the Women & Family Education department in the WISH and Parkland Education teams. This part-time, day-shift role is located at the Main Hospital Building, 8th floor.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must have one year of experience in maternal/infant health; inpatient hospital experience preferred.
• IBCLC certification within 18 months of hire/reclassification and ongoing maintenance required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate initiation and continuation of breastfeeding through one-on-one evaluation and education for patients and families.
• Teach breastfeeding, childbirth preparation, and postpartum discharge classes.
• Serve as clinical resource on breastfeeding and collaborate with staff on solutions.
