Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an EVS Associate - In Patient to perform daily cleaning in patient areas, offices, public spaces, and non-patient zones. The role emphasizes respectful communication with patients and staff as well as adherence to hospital cleaning protocols.

Responsibilities include cleaning needs across NICU, PACU, ICU, and inpatient units, operating cleaning equipment, handling waste, and supporting move and setup tasks as required.

Qualifications

• Some high school education is required.
• 0–1 year of related work experience is required.
• Basic familiarity with computers and ability to navigate basic web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning tasks in patient areas, offices, public and non-patient areas as assigned, including daily cleaning and project cleaning.
• Handle dry and wet mopping and surface care using appropriate equipment; perform floor and carpet care.
• Respond to discharges, spills, floods and emergencies; clean patient equipment and assist with patient moves as needed.
• Collect and manage waste; seal and transport contaminated waste to designated areas and to the compactor area.
• Follow department procedures for cleaning solutions, inventory and equipment sign-in/out; report malfunctions.
