Job summary

Summa Health is seeking a board certified/eligible Hospice & Palliative Medicine physician to join a team of 10 physicians and 10 advanced practice providers. The role emphasizes inpatient care, with potential outpatient duties, at the Akron Hospital Campus in Northeastern Ohio.

Qualifications

• Board Certified/Eligible in Hospice & Palliative Medicine.
• Fellowship trained in Hospice & Palliative Medicine.
• Current and unrestricted license in the State of Ohio, or willing to obtain.
• Compassionate, caring demeanor with patients, families, and staff.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient care at Akron Hospital Campus.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including pharmacists, nurses, social workers, and spiritual care staff.
• Teach in the HPM Fellowship Program and with residents and medical students.
• Partner with community-based hospice and manage inpatient hospice patients as part of the hospital's palliative care unit.
