Job summary

The University of Washington Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology, seeks a full-time ARNP or PA at the Teaching Associate rank to support inpatient hematology/oncology care across UWMC and FHCC.

The role involves 12-hour rotating day shifts, rounds with attending physicians, procedures such as bone marrow biopsy and lumbar puncture, and collaboration within an interdisciplinary team, under supervision of an attending.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
• Certified as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
• One year ARNP/PA-C experience preferred.
• Hematology/Oncology or inpatient experience preferred.
• Washington state & DEA licensure required at credentialing.
• ACLS within three months of hire date.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Electronic Medical Record experience.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of an interdisciplinary team on inpatient units with 12-hour rotating day shifts.
• Perform complex H&Ps; daily rounds with team and attending physician.
• Evaluate and manage all aspects of care for medical oncology/heme inpatients.
• Perform procedures including bone marrow biopsy and lumbar puncture.
• Collaborate with other disciplines and services.
• Communicate changes in patient status and coordinate transitions to outpatient care.
• Participate in patient rounds, conferences and committees.
• Contribute to clinical research trials and document data per UW policies.
