Job summary

The University of Washington Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology seeks a full-time ARNP or PA at the Teaching Associate rank. This position is deployed at UWMC and FHCC and supports inpatient hematology/oncology care within the Platinum Service.

The Teaching Associate will perform evaluation and management of inpatients, participate in rounds, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team under physician supervision.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PA or NP program.
• Certified as PA or NP.
• One year ARNP or PA-C experience preferred.
• Hematology/Oncology or inpatient experience preferred.
• Washington state & DEA licensure required at credentialing.
• ACLS within three months of hire date.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• EMR experience.

Responsibilities

• Work on inpatient units at UWMC with 12-hour rotating day shifts.
• Perform H&P’s; rounds daily with team and attending physician.
• Evaluate and manage inpatient oncology/hematology care.
• Perform bone marrow biopsy and lumbar puncture per scope.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary services.
• Communicate status and transitions to outpatient team.
• Participate in rounds, conferences and committees.
• Participate in clinical research activities.
