Job summary

UAB Medicine's Hematology/Oncology Specialty Unit is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a PRN inpatient role in Birmingham, AL. The APP will evaluate and manage acutely ill hematology and oncology patients from admission to discharge, with chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapy knowledge essential.

The position requires experience in hematology/oncology, ability to coordinate care, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Hematology/Oncology experience required.
• Experience with chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapies.
• Strong patient assessment and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient medical care under supervising physician.
• Coordinate plan of care, discharge planning and referrals.
• Perform comprehensive physical examinations and charting.
• Contribute to quality improvement and patient education.
