Job summary

Weatherby Healthcare is seeking a locum tenens physician for an inpatient gastroenterology setting. You will perform advanced endoscopic procedures including EGD, ERCP, colonoscopy, and liver biopsy, with substantial call duties and a fixed shift schedule.

Shifts are 24 hours with a 1:3 call ratio and 30-minute response. Travel, housing, and malpractice are pre-paid; support is available 24/7 through Weatherby consultants.

Responsibilities

• 24-hour call shifts: 5–11 shifts per month
• Call ratio 1:3 with 30-minute response time
• 0–6 patients per shift; rounding on assigned patients
• Inpatient gastroenterology practice setting; perform upper GI endoscopy, ERCP, colonoscopy, and liver biopsy
• Peg, esophageal dilatation, small bowel biopsy, and sigmoidoscopy required
• Sengstaken/Blakemore tube insertion and management required
• Leave coverage opportunity
• Assignment details and time entry in online portal
• 24-hour access to Weatherby consultant
