Job summary

State of North Carolina's Department of Health and Human Services seeks a Psychiatrist (NS) to provide comprehensive psychiatric and substance abuse care and to lead treatment teams on the geriatric services unit at Central Regional Hospital.

The role involves direct patient care, initial assessments, treatment planning, and coordination with a multidisciplinary team. Board-certified or eligible psychiatrists are preferred, with geriatric fellowship favored, and a sign-on bonus may be offered.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice medicine in the State of North Carolina.
• Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry preferred.
• Fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric care and lead treatment team activities on the geriatric services unit.
• Perform initial psychiatric assessments and develop treatment plans.
• Deliver pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy, and other modalities as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and ensure patient safety.
