Job summary

Georgetown Behavioral Health Institute seeks an Activity Therapist to join the interdisciplinary treatment team providing therapeutic recreational and activity services to patients with emotional or substance use concerns. The role includes developing and implementing treatment plans and delivering individual and group therapies.

Responsibilities include documenting progress, consulting with medical staff, and participating in the formulation of goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in recreational, music, art therapy, or occupational therapy preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a therapy-related field; inpatient psychiatric experience preferred.
• CPR certification required; completion of Management of Aggressive Behavior training before patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic recreational and activity services to patients.
• Develop and implement treatment plans with goals.
• Conduct individual therapy with patients.
• Provide group therapies and educational didactic groups.
• Document progress in group notes and individual sessions.
• Consult with doctors and nursing staff; contact outpatient providers.
• Report to agencies as required; uphold safety and ethics.
• Participate in formulation of treatment plans.
• Represent hospital in legal proceedings as required.
• Comply with safety, infection control, and customer service standards.
