Job summary

Memorial Hermann is seeking a Coding Auditor to ensure accurate clinical coding for proper reimbursement and data integrity. The role reports to the Coding Compliance Manager and supports education across coding staff.

The position requires RHIT/RHIA/CCA/CCS/CIC certifications or AHIMA/AAPC equivalents, with 4+ years in hospital coding or auditing. Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and 3M coding systems is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• RHIT/RHIA/CCA/CCS or CIC certifications required for inpatient coding; AHIMA/AAPC certifications acceptable.
• Minimum 4 years of hospital coding or auditing experience.

Responsibilities

• Conducts coding audits and monitors coding accuracy.
• Designs audits and educational sessions for coding staff.
• Ensures compliance with AHIMA standards and official coding guidelines.
• Keeps abreast of coding guidelines and reimbursement reporting requirements.
• Prepares data analyses to identify coding pattern variations.
