Job summary

Huron Consulting Group seeks an Inpatient Coding Auditor to audit inpatient coders and offshore auditors, ensuring coding and DRG accuracy and clear communication with client teams. The role requires ICD-CM/ICD-PCS knowledge, encoder software proficiency, and strict adherence to CMS/AHA/AHIMA guidelines.

You will report to the Domestic Coding team and contribute to audits, calibration, and improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Certified coding credentials (CCS/CIC/CDIP) are required.
• Experience auditing inpatient hospital coding and DRG accuracy.
• Proficiency with encoder software and EHR systems.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-CM, ICD-PCS and CMS guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Audit inpatient coders and offshore auditors to ensure 95% DRG accuracy.
• Perform quality checks and calibration audits per SOPs.
• Provide feedback to coders and participate in client meetings.
• Maintain current knowledge of inpatient reimbursement guidelines.
• Prepare audit reports and present findings to leadership.
