Job summary

The role follows ICD-10/PCS guidelines and AHIMA ethical standards, with ongoing learning through coding webinars and audit reviews; EPIC EHR experience is preferred and Windows proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology and coding course required.
• CCS Certification through AHIMA required or must be obtained within two years from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Abstract information from patient records to apply diagnostic and procedural codes for inpatient accounts.
• Adhere to ICD-10 and PCS Coding Guidelines and AHIMA Standards of Ethical Coding.
