An established industry player is seeking a detail-oriented Inpatient Coder to join their remote team. In this role, you'll be responsible for assigning accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT codes, ensuring compliance with official coding guidelines and standards. Your expertise will help streamline billing processes and maintain coding productivity. You'll also take on the challenge of abstracting essential data and resolving any coding-related issues that arise. If you're passionate about coding and want to make a significant impact in healthcare, this opportunity is perfect for you!
This Inpatient Coder role is remote, however you must reside in Arkansas.
As a coding expert, you'll be the one to assign all the right ICD-10-CM/PCS diagnosis and procedure codes with precision! You'll also rock those Present on Admission (POA) indicators for every inpatient visit, making sure everything follows the AHA Coding Clinic Official Guidelines and AHIMA Standards for Ethical Coding. CPT codes? No sweat! You’ll assign them with finesse, sticking to the rules laid out by the American Medical Association and the CPT Assistant newsletter.
You’ll be the superhero who ensures all codes are in place on time, right before that bill is about to print. Plus, you’ll stay on top of coding productivity like a pro!
But wait, there's more! When Same Day Surgery, Emergency Department, or Radiology visits get busy, you’ll jump in as a backup coding guru to keep things running smoothly. You’ll also take the lead in abstracting crucial data using the 3M 360 encoder and Epic 6.x Abstracting module—and you’ll make sure no patient record is left behind.
You’re not just about the codes; you’ll be the coding detective too! Identifying coding issues and crafting spot-on physician queries will be your thing. You'll send these queries to the Data Tech, who'll track the physician's responses, and once that’s in, you’ll finalize everything for billing like a true champion.
Your eagle eye will also help you research and resolve accounts that hit a snag in billing or collections due to diagnostic or procedure coding issues.
And because every superhero has their other duties, you’ll tackle those as assigned with flair!
