Job summary

Medasource is partnering with a leading regional health system to hire experienced Inpatient Medical Coders for a fully remote contract opportunity. This role supports a high-acuity, multi-specialty environment and is ideal for coders with strong experience handling complex inpatient cases.

Responsibilities include inpatient coding across multiple specialties, accurate diagnosis and procedure coding, and maintaining timely entry while meeting productivity and quality standards.

Qualifications

• CCS certification preferred; RHIT or RHIA credentials will be considered.
• Minimum of three years inpatient coding experience.
• Strong multispecialty inpatient coding background.
• Experience with academic medical centers or trauma facilities preferred.
• Proficiency with Epic EHR and 3M encoder.

Responsibilities

• Perform inpatient coding across Cardiology, Neurology, Surgical cases, Transplants, NICU, and other complex inpatient services.
• Assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes per standards and regulations.
• Maintain timely and accurate coding in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
• Consistently meet established productivity and quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate inpatient coding across a wide range of specialties, including: Cardiology, Neurology, Surgical cases, Transplants, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Additional complex inpatient cases
• Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and industry standards
• Maintain timely and accurate coding in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Consistently meet established productivity and quality expectations

Qualifications

• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification preferred; RHIT or RHIA credentials will also be considered
• Minimum of three years of inpatient coding experience
• Strong multi-specialty inpatient coding background
• Experience working within an academic medical center or trauma facility preferred
• Proficiency with Epic EHR
• Experience using the 3M encoder
