Job summary

The University of Chicago Medicine is seeking a Staff Clinical Pharmacist for the Inpatient Pharmacy to join one of the nation’s premier academic medical centers. This role emphasizes safe, effective medication therapy and collaboration across centralized and decentralized systems.

Responsibilities include evaluating orders, supervising technicians, coordinating IV therapy, documenting interventions, and supporting both central and satellite pharmacies. Overnight shift with 7 on/7 off.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy.
• Eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in Illinois (within 60 days).
• Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency.
• Clinical pharmacy experience (2–4 years) in a hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy and appropriateness of medication orders.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and ensure task completion.
• Monitor drug utilization and IV to PO conversions.
• Document clinical interventions and adverse drug events.
• Assist in training new personnel and participate in ambulatory dispensing activities.
