Job summary

University of Chicago Medicine in Chicago’s Hyde Park campus seeks a Staff Pharmacist-Clinical for the Inpatient Pharmacy. This part-time 0.5 FTE role covers rotating AM/PM shifts with a focus on safe, effective medication therapy and central and decentralized drug-use systems.

The position requires an ACPE accredited PharmD, Illinois licensure within 60 days, and an ASHP PGY-1 residency. Oncology experience is a plus and a sign-on bonus up to $2,500 is offered.

Qualifications

• ACPE accredited college of pharmacy.
• Doctor of Pharmacy or higher preferred.
• Licensure as a pharmacist in Illinois within 60 days of employment.
• ASHP accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency required.
• Board Certification preferred.
• Completion of ASHP accredited PGY-1 Residency required.

Responsibilities

• Verify accuracy and appropriateness of medication orders.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and ensure task completion.
• Monitor drug use criteria and IV to PO conversions.
• Document clinical interventions and adverse events.
• Collaborate with physicians on medication therapy and provide drug information.
• Assist in training new personnel.
• Provide ambulatory pharmacy services as needed.
