Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a full-time Inpatient Clinical Dietitian for our new Fort Wayne hospital. The role involves on-call rotation every other weekend and major holidays, delivering nutrition care to inpatients and outpatients in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

The position requires a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree, 0–3 years of relevant experience, and timely registration with the CDR and Indiana licensure.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree is required or Bachelor's Degree prior to 2024.
• Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• Registration through the Commission on Dietetic Registration must be obtained within 6 months of start date.
• Indiana licensure must be obtained within 1 year of start date.
• CDR approval and Indiana RD license may be required for certain clinical area billing.

Responsibilities

• Provide optimal nutrition care for inpatients and outpatients in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Utilize the Nutrition Care Process: assessment, diagnosis, intervention, monitoring and evaluation.
• Develop and deliver individualized nutrition education plans for patients/clients.

Description

This is a full-time Inpatient Clinical Dietitian position that will be located at our new hospital in Fort Wayne, IN. This position will require working an on-call rotation every other weekend and holidays.

Provides optimal nutrition care for inpatients and outpatients, utilizing the Nutrition Care Process, in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. The Nutrition Care Process includes nutritional assessment, nutrition diagnosis, nutrition intervention and nutrition monitoring and evaluation. Plans, organizes, implements and evaluates nutrition education individualized to the patient/client needs.

• Master's Degree is required or Bachelor's Degree prior to 2024.
• Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• Registration through the Commission on Dietetic Registration must be obtained within 6 months of start date.
• Licensure through the state of Indiana must be obtained within 1 year of start date.
• Any clinical area billing for service may require CDR approval and Indiana state RD license prior to start date.
• Requires the ability to develop nutritional care plans and provide nutritional education.
• Requires the ability to demonstrate competency in nutrition focused physical exam and malnutrition documentation.
