Job summary

Henry Ford Health seeks an Inpatient CDI Supervisor to lead the IP CDI frontline team, review clinical evidence, and drive documentation quality in the EMR. You will collaborate with physicians, residents, NPs, and nursing to clarify diagnoses and ensure compliant coding.

You will conduct audits, educate staff, and partner with coding, quality, and operational leadership to advance reimbursement integrity and data quality across inpatient services.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• CNP license required or PA-C license required.
• ECFMG credentials for international graduates.
• Minimum 5 years acute care experience.
• Minimum 3 years IP CDI experience.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM Coding Guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day CDI frontline team operations: scheduling, workload, queries, and reconciliation.
• Review clinical evidence in EMR to ensure complete and accurate reflection of patient complexity.
• Identify opportunities to clarify documentation using ICD-10-CM guidelines.
• Conduct CDI quality audits and communicate findings for education/remediation.
• Collaborate with coding on reviews and queries; reconcile impact of queries.
• Maintain knowledge of ICD-10-CM guidelines and reimbursement concepts.
