Job summary

Kansas Health System is seeking a part-time Behavioral Health Tech (Inpatient) at Olathe Hospital. The role supports nurses through direct patient care, clerical tasks, and unit operations within a fast-paced behavioral health setting.

Requirements include a CNA license or 18 months of patient care experience, BLS within 14 days, and strong communication. Cross-training as Unit Secretary and Unit Assistant is possible based on needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, or enrollment in a program.
• CNA license, or completion of Gold Standard Intern Program, or nursing coursework.
• Minimum 18 months in a patient care role.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
• Must communicate effectively with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for admission, transfers and discharges including IV pump setup and bed readiness.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment; handle supplies and infection control.
• Record vital signs, nutrition, intake/output, and assist with hygiene.
• Respond to call lights promptly with courteous, effective service.
• Enter orders and charges into the computer system accurately.
• Prioritize tasks and support the nurse in care planning and safety goals.
