Job summary

Harris Health System, Inc. seeks a Patient Care Assistant II to support inpatient patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will collaborate with charge nurses and staff nurses to ensure patient needs are met and comply with safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED plus technical skills/training appropriate to the specialty area.
• Two years related clinical experience (experience in nursing program clinical rotations is applicable).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from an AHA-approved program; Aggression Management training within 90 days of hire; EKG/phlebotomy competency as applicable to specialty area within 6 months; other unit-specific certificates as required.

Responsibilities

• The PCA II supports patient care activities under the supervision of a registered nurse on inpatient units.
• Works with the charge nurse and staff nurses to ensure patient care needs are met.
• Performs delegated patient care activities and adheres to patient safety measures.
• Demonstrates proficiency in basic patient care activities, medical terminology, communication, organization and computer skills.
