Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a patient care assistant to support nursing staff in delivering quality care. The role involves assisting with CPR under RN or physician supervision, documenting patient data, and helping with activities of daily living.

You will participate in transition/discharge teaching and maintain accurate records. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, and completion of AED training.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: Paid or practicum experience in a clinical setting preferred.
• Credential: AHA Heartsaver AED.
• Non-Licensed must obtain before end of orientation period.

Responsibilities

• Assists with CPR under the direction/supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician.
• Documents patient care activities and patient data accurately using appropriate forms or information systems.
• Performs ADL tasks such as bathing, feeding, and personal care.
• Completes assigned duties within the time frame set by the RN.
• Reinforces transition/discharge teaching and patient self-care activities.
• Performs clinical skills such as vital signs, aseptic technique, specimen collection, and basic therapies.
• Provides AM/PM care and accurate documentation of patient status.
• Assists with admissions, transfers, or discharges as needed.
• Monitors patients for changes and communicates progress to the RN.
