Job summary

Nebraska Medicine is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our Cardiac Surgery team. This inpatient role is based at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha and provides care for patients throughout their cardiac surgery journey.

Third Shift: 12-hour shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, covering all days including weekends and holidays. Ideal candidates have critical care or cardiothoracic experience and NP/PA credentials with APRN/APPA licensure.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in nursing required.
• RN experience and APRN licensure required.
• Active Nebraska RN license or compact state license required.
• APRN licensure with appropriate certification (AGACNP-BC/ANP-BC/FNP-BC/AGPCNP-BC/ACNP) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient care for adult and congenital cardiac surgery patients in collaboration with supervising physicians.
• Round and coordinate with surgeons, ICU teams, and multidisciplinary staff.
• Manage postoperative care, complications, and discharge planning.
• Mentor/nurse practitioner and physician assistant staff; participate in team quality initiatives.
