Connecticut Children’s is seeking a Behavioral Health Milieu Technician (BHMT) to provide hands‑on care within an inpatient unit under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role includes assisting in educational, recreational and therapeutic activities alongside direct patient care and environmental support.

Qualifed candidates have an Associate degree (or HS diploma with 3+ years MH experience) and current BLS/CPR; Crisis Intervention training within 3 months is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required with a minimum of six months direct patient or client care.
• OR High School diploma, GED equivalent, or a higher level of education that would require a High School diploma and 3 years of experience in Mental Health related field.

Responsabilités

• Assist or lead educational, recreational and therapeutic activities and group activities in the Milieu under supervision.
• Provide direct patient care and collect vital signs and other data as required.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment and communicate observations to the care team.
• Document clinical notes; participate in incident reporting and safety protocols.
• Assist with Activities of Daily Living and transportation of patients.
