Job summary

Connecticut Children’s in Hartford, CT, is seeking a Behavioral Health Milieu Technician (BHMT) to join our inpatient unit on-site. You will support frontline patient care under RN supervision, assist with educational, recreational and therapeutic activities, and help maintain a safe environment.

The role requires an associate degree (or high school diploma with experience) and BLS/CPR; crisis intervention training within 3 months.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher required.
• Six months direct patient or client care experience preferred.
• Current BLS / CPR certification required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist or lead educational, recreational and therapeutic activities on the Milieu.
• Provide direct patient care under RN supervision and document patient data.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and follow safety protocols.
• Assist in admissions, daily living activities and patient transport as needed.
