Job summary

Connecticut Children’s seeks a Behavioral Health Milieu Technician to provide hands-on care on an inpatient unit under RN supervision, delivering direct patient care and supporting education, recreation and therapy activities. You will help maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and assist with vital signs, ADLs, and data collection.

Qualifications include an associate degree or higher (or HS diploma with MH experience), plus current BLS/CPR and Crisis Intervention training within 3 months.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in related field (or HS diploma with 3 years MH experience) required.
• Current BLS/CPR for adult, child & infant upon hire.
• Crisis Intervention training required within 3 months of hire and kept current.

Responsibilities

• Assist or lead educational, recreational and therapeutic activities.
• Provide direct patient care and collect vital signs and basic data.
• Assist in intake processes and maintain safety of the environment.
• Document observations and incidents in the electronic health record.
• Support ADLs, transportation and admissions/discharges.
• Participate in restraints as directed and assist in emergency procedures.
