Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking Mental Health Technicians to support the Oklahoma OCCIC facility. The role involves providing direct care to high-risk individuals and working within a multidisciplinary team to address recovery goals.

Positions range MHT I–III with different salary bands; shift differentials apply. Competitive state benefits are included. Applicants must meet physical requirements and be 18+.

Qualifications

• No specific education requirement for MHT I; one year of experience for MHT II; two years of experience for MHT III.
• Experience in behavioral health patient care as the role progresses.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct behavioral health care in inpatient, outpatient or residential settings.
• Monitor recovery progress toward treatment goals.
• Assist in de-escalation and safety procedures.
• Lead or participate in recovery, wellness, and social skills groups.
• Develop and manage additional group activities.
