Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is hiring a Mental Health Technician to provide compassionate patient care in inpatient units. You will support nursing staff, assist with safety checks, and help with assessments and routines across age groups.

The role requires solid communication, teamwork, and adherence to safety protocols, with opportunities for growth through interdisciplinary collaboration and ongoing education.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a CNA/MA/PCT program or Fundamentals of Nursing program, or equivalent medical/behavioral health background.
• Experience in EMT, Home Health Aide, CMA, MA or PCT preferred.
• Pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and safety for a specified patient population.
• Communicate patient status and care with nursing staff.
• Participate in unit PI activities and interdisciplinary rounds.
• Assist in transporting patients and supporting psychiatry consultations via telehealth.
• Maintain accurate documentation in patient records and follow hospital policies.
