Oceans Behavioral Hospital Katy seeks a dedicated Behavioral Health Technician to support nursing staff and help maintain a therapeutic milieu. You will perform routine patient care tasks, monitor safety, and assist with daily activities while adhering to regulatory standards.

The position requires good communication, ability to work with diverse populations, and completion of required training including BLS and de-escalation programs.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and follow verbal and written instruction.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must work well with diverse populations.
• Must utilize Age, Disability and Cultural Specific knowledge in working with specialized populations.
• Must be in good physical and mental health with empathetic attitude and integrity.
• Must work under close supervision.
• Must complete BLS and Oceans-approved de-escalation program.

Responsabilités

• Monitor and support unit rules compliance.
• Use de-escalation and therapeutic interventions as needed.
• Inventory patient belongings and secure contraband; perform safety checks.
• Follow infection control policies and attend required in-services.
• Under supervision, perform vital signs, weights, ADL and nutritional monitoring; report to nurse.
• Assist patients with daily tasks and mobility as needed.
• Document observations and nutrition, intake, vitals accurately for nursing staff.
