Oceans Behavioral Hospital Permian Basin is seeking a Mental Health Technician to support nursing staff and help maintain a therapeutic milieu for adults and seniors with mental health needs. You will perform vital signs, ADL assistance, documentation and ensure safe, compassionate care in a hospital setting.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent with CNA certification (or 6 months bedside care), strong communication skills, and CPR plus Oceans' de-escalation training.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent with CNA certification or at least 6 months of direct patient care experience.
• Must read, write and follow verbal and written instructions with strong communication.
• CPR certification and Oceans approved de-escalation program required.

Responsabilités

• Support the nursing staff to maintain a therapeutic milieu and assist in patient care activities under supervision.
• Perform vital signs, nutritional monitoring, ADL assistance, and documentation for the nurse.
• Assist patients with laundry, meals, mobility and daily living tasks.
• Ensure patient safety by following infection control and universal precautions.
• Document patient observations and changes accurately in the patient record within defined time lines.
• Communicate patient needs and follow-up tasks to nursing staff to ensure continuity of care.
• Adhere to Joint Commission, federal and state regulations and Oceans policies.
