Job summary

UF Health in St. Augustine, FL is seeking a Mental Health Tech to provide care, supervision and safety for patients on an Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit under the direct supervision of an RN. You will assist in leading milieu groups and activities and work with staff to maintain a safe environment.

The schedule is 7:00pm–7:00am, 0.10 FTE (PRN) with some weekends. Education: High School Diploma required; 0–1 year of mental health direct care preferred; BLS and WELLE certifications required

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 0–1 year Mental Health Unit or Direct Patient Care experience preferred.
• BLS certification within 30 days of employment; WELLE training within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide care, support, supervision and safety for patients on the Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit.
• Assist in developing and leading milieu groups and activities.
• Monitor mood, affect and physical conditions; report changes to the nurse; ensure patient and staff safety.
