UF Health in Gainesville, FL is seeking a Mental Health Specialist to provide direct patient care to individuals with psychiatric and substance use disorders under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

You will work in an interdisciplinary team, assist with ADL tasks, monitor vital signs, and support therapeutic activities. Daily community groups and psychoeducation sessions help maximize patient wellbeing, with a 24-hour-week schedule.

Formación

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Preferred: at least 1 year college experience in Behavioral Health, Allied Health, Psychology, Social Sciences or related field.
• If no college experience, at least 1 year of Behavioral Health experience in inpatient psychiatric or addiction medicine setting or CNA/EMT equivalent.
• Must successfully pass an AHCA Level 2 screening.

Responsabilidades

• Provide patient care services to individuals with psychiatric and substance use disorders within an interdisciplinary team model.
• Interventions include physical and psychosocial activities.
• Assist with monitoring of the milieu for safety and security.
• Provide direct patient care activities, including assisting with ADL care, monitoring vital signs, and specimen collection.
• Provide positive interactions and a safe environment, engage in therapeutic activities, and assist therapist with programming.
• Conduct daily community groups, psychoeducation groups, and evening wrap-up groups to maximize patient wellbeing.

Educación

High School diploma or equivalent

1 year college experience in Behavioral Health, Allied Health, Psychology, Social Sciences or related field

1 year Behavioral Health experience in inpatient psychiatric or addiction medicine setting or CNA/EMT in related medical setting
