Job summary

Oceans Behavioral Hospital Katy is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to support nursing staff in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care to adults and seniors with anxiety, depression and related conditions. Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred, but not required, unless state regulations specify otherwise.
• Current CNA certification or at least 6 months of bedside, direct patient care experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Continually monitors and supports compliance within unit rules.
• Demonstrates de‑escalation and therapeutic interventions as needed.
• Inventories patient belongings accurately and secures contraband; completes unit safety checks.
• Performs vital signs, weights, ADL, nutritional monitoring and communicates findings to the nurse.
• Assists patients with laundry, meals, bathroom functions and mobility needs as required.
• Individualizes patient care activities to age, disability, and cultural needs.
• Documents patient observations related to behavior and location with accurate nutritional and vital sign data.
• Communicates task outcomes to nursing staff and ensures continuity of care.
