MaineGeneral Health System in Augusta, ME is seeking a dedicated Behavioral Health Registered Nurse to join our 3 South inpatient unit at the Alfond Center for Health. You will contribute to a therapeutic environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide patient-centered care.

The role emphasizes assessment, care planning, education for patients and families, and adjusting care with supervision.

Qualifications

• Maine RN license or ability to obtain in a timely fashion.
• 1 year of acute care RN experience in behavioral health population (preferred).
• New graduates are welcome to apply; BLS and MOAB preferred.
• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to operate in a health care environment with inherent stressors.

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on assessment to optimize outcomes and resources.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care, including transfer, admissions, discharge, referral, and psychosocial support.
• Educates patient and/or family appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Effectively delegates and communicates care needs to ancillary personnel; may precept students/new hires.
