Qualifications

• Master’s degree in mental health counseling and art therapy from an accredited program.
• Registered Art Therapist (ATR) or Registered Expressive Arts Therapist (REAT) and RI license (LMHC/LMHC-A).
• Two years of relevant inpatient experience preferred.
• Knowledge of art therapy/expressive art therapy principles and methods.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients, set treatment goals, and implement care plans.
• Communicate with physicians, nurses, social workers, and the team about progress.
• Document clinical findings and maintain patient confidentiality in LifeChart.
• Use art therapy and CBT techniques to meet treatment objectives.
• Provide supervision to undergraduate and graduate students in art therapy.
• Maintain program materials and participate in trainings to meet credentialing standards.
• Develop community connections for Healing Arts Program and oversee gallery displays.
