Job summary

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider for the Colorectal Surgery team. This inpatient role supports complex patient populations, operates with a strong team-based model, and offers opportunities to lead initiatives in care delivery and education.

Salary range starts at $117,500 and rises to $176,500 with a midpoint of $146,500, with on-site work and a typical M-F 6:30a–3:30p schedule, transitioning to a 9-80 when fully trained.

Qualifications

• Education and licensure as an APRN or PA per Texas BON/TSBPAE.
• Master's degree from an ARC-PA-accredited PA program.
• Inpatient oncology experience preferred.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Receive daily sign-out from fellows and PAs regarding patient care issues.
• Round on all first- assist cases and follow up on issues affecting patients on the floor.
• Assess, triage, and manage patient care needs as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team.
• Obtain medical histories and perform physical examinations and psychosocial assessments.
• Review and interpret lab results and imaging to inform care plans.
• Formulate diagnostic and therapeutic plans in collaboration with attending physicians.
• Manage symptoms and treatment toxicities associated with disease and therapy.
